First of all, I am wife to Jim Collord, Mom to five sons, and Grandmother to 14 grandchildren, and Grandma Great to 10. I have a life-long interest in the out-of-doors, and was able to contribute to my education in natural resources and the ongoing effort of community sustainability by helping establish the Northeastern Nevada Stewardship Group in 1998. Prior to that I served as chairperson of the Elko County Grazing Task Force tasked with looking into the issues and conflicts surrounding public land grazing in northeastern Nevada. That experience revealed the core issue to be a lack of organizational understandings – various multiple use publics’, the federal, state and local agencies and authorities, coupled with minimal communication efforts and processes among and between entities. Special interests and skills: My 20 years in Girl Scouts was invaluable in developing my outdoor interests and skills, along with a confidence in planning and coordinating. My families camping years in the Eastern Sierras over my growing years was fun and important. Our family experiences with our five sons over the past 39 years counted for many experiences in organizing activities and maintaining a somewhat even and inclusive attitude.
